Key Inpatient and Outpatient Services Will Remain Open at Mainland Medical Center  

Texas City, Texas, Feb. 6, 2017 – Mainland Medical Center, a campus of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center (CLRMC), is consolidating and relocating its obstetrics program and infant deliveries to its main campus at CLRMC, effective March 1, 2017.

The community will still be able to access obstetrical services through the women’s clinic in Texas City, but deliveries will occur at CLRMC, which has a broader range of obstetrical, gynecological and high-risk pregnancy resources, including a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Consolidating obstetrical services at CLRMC is designed to improve the patient experience and service offerings while providing the community a broader range of obstetrical, gynecological and high-risk pregnancy care, as well as educational and support services.

CLRMC has a dedicated assessment center for prenatal monitoring and testing. In house board-certified Neonatologist staffing the NICU 24 hours a day, seven days a week; nutritional counseling and support for gestational diabetes; and a dedicated high risk antepartum unit and postpartum unit with private rooms.

All other existing inpatient and outpatient programs, including emergency care services, surgical services, orthopedic services, cardiovascular, stroke and trauma services, geriatric behavioral health services, wound care and hyperbaric medicine services, sleep disorder center, imaging services and inpatient rehabilitation services, will continue to operate at Mainland Medical Center.
