Welcome to The Women’s Center at Mainland Medical Center where we are dedicated to meeting the health and wellness needs of the women of our community. As women’s needs change, Mainland Medical Center remains committed to proactively providing care through its full spectrum of gynecological-focused clinical services including:

Because Mainland Medical Center is a campus of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, patients should know that the latter facility is home to a 42-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that can receive infant patients by helicopter.
Labor and Delivery
The Labor and Delivery Unit in the Women’s Center at Mainland Medical Center places the primary focus on you and your baby. This unit is dedicated to ensuring the comfort and well being of the expectant mother and her child.
Our professional nursing staff is here to provide you the privacy and comfort you want during your hospital stay. We provide rooming in to mothers or our traditional nursery is also available. Our staff is certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and we practice according to the guidelines established by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN).
Private birthing suites that accommodate labor, delivery and recovery all in the same room. There are two operating rooms in the event of the need of cesarean section. A spacious waiting room area is available for families and friends. Our Registered Nurses are certified in Fetal Monitoring, advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation.
Newborn Nursery
The Newborn Nursery is dedicated to ensuring that your family and new baby make great memories during your stay with us. A caring and loving nursing staff will provide quality care for your newborn baby as he or she transitions. Our nursery unit is a Level II Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit and all Nurses are trained in Neonatal Resuscitation.
Postpartum Care
Recognizing the special needs of women immediately after the birth of their babies, MMC provides a dedicated Postpartum Care Unit. This is a 15-bed unit featuring all private rooms. Such an arrangement creates a more peaceful surrounding that reduces stress while maximizing the patient's comfort level and sense of privacy.
Additional Procedures at Mainland Medical Center
In addition to labor and delivery, our physicians in women’s services care for all types of post-operative gynecological surgeries including traditional and laparoscopic procedures.
The Breast Care Center
Digital Mammography, Computer-Aided Detection and Breast Ultrasound are all available at the Breast Care Center.
