Hospital Corporation of America (NYSE: HCA), a leading healthcare provider with 162 hospitals and 112 ambulatory surgery centers in 20 states and London, England, has been named one of the Ethisphere Institute’s 2013 World’s Most Ethical Companies. It is the fourth consecutive year HCA has achieved this distinction.

Mainland Medical Center Welcomes Its Last Baby of 2012!

Mainland Medical Center and Dr. Sean Wencroft helped Adrianna Chabolla and Jeffrey Blakeman welcome their son, Tanner Blakeman, into the world at 1:13 p.m. on December 31, 2012. Tanner weighs 6 lbs. 15 ounces and is 20 ½ inches long. Tanner’s brother, Josh Blakeman, was born on at Mainland Medical Center on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2010.

Mainland Medical Center’s employees recently held a back-to-school supply drive for the City of Texas City and La Marque school districts. The fun event was made even more exciting as hospital departments competed in a contest to see who could gather the most supplies.

Micheal Ehrat Joins Mainland Medical Center As Chief Executive Officer

HCA Gulf Coast Division President, Maura Walsh, announced that Michael Ehrat has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HCA affiliated Mainland Medical Center (MMC), a campus of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center (CLRMC). Ehrat comes to MMC from HCA affiliated Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee where he served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the past five years. Ehrat has held various healthcare leadership roles for 20 years, 15 of which were with HCA.

HCA Affiliated Mainland Medical Center honored Dr. Herman Koester by dedicating the Mainland Medical Center Lab in his name. Mainland Medical Center’s Chief Operating Officer, Xochy Hurtado, and the City of Texas City’s Commissioner for District 4, Rick Wilkenfeld, together presented a dedication plaque to Dr. Koester’s family in honor of his work and dedication to Mainland Medical Center.

A Dream Come True at Mainland Medical Center

February 2012 was the beginning of a nightmarish health challenge for a 25 year old local young lady by the name of Stephanie Williams. Stephanie is a charming, bubbly young lady with a zest for life who unexplainably developed difficulty swallowing, nausea, terrible pain, and paralysis in her legs, feet and hands. Stephanie was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a muscle disorder where the body’s immune system attacks itself and can lead to paralysis.
